Australian Design Review counts down to the highly anticipated IDEA 2014 with a diverse retrospective series of interviews and articles, conducted and written by local design students.
Last year, interior design students from the Commercial Arts Training College (CATC) Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Gold Coast campuses were given an opportunity to speak to some of Australia’s foremost designers.
Their task: to discuss the designers’ work and success in past Interior Design Excellence Awards.
CATC students were given exclusive access to IDEA winners across a range of categories including residential, product, commercial, hospitality and sustainability.
Expect insightful conversations with leading Australian architecture and design studios, and reflections on some of the most influential local projects of recent years as seen through the eyes of their talented creators.
Among the prominent industry leaders we are excited to feature are Breathe Architecture, Hassell, Hecker Guthrie, Paul Morgan Architects and an interview with the formidable Janne Faulkner of Nexus Designs.
Also in the coming weeks, Australian Design Review will preview this year’s IDEA shortlisted projects – a sample of the local contemporary architecture and design showcased in the upcoming book Life Spaces: Live Work Connect, 120 Award Winning Interiors from IDEA.
