The 2015 Dulux Colour Awards judging panel has been announced, with five industry leaders chosen to represent differing areas of expertise.

With 29 years of celebrating work within the architectural industry, Dulux aims to shine a spotlight on architects and designers who best showcase the use of colour within the built environment. This includes nine entry categories ranging from student designs to residential, commercial and international projects.

Dulux Colour & Communications Manager Andrea Lucena-Orr said the 2015 judging panel combines some of Australia and New Zealand’s best creative talent.

“Each year we look for a panel of judges that inherently understand and identify innovative uses of colour to create beautiful and inspiring spaces,” Andrea said.

The panel consists of:

Andrea Wilson – Senior Associate at ARM Architecture

Winner of the 2009 Dulux Colour Awards Grand Prix title, Andrea Wilson has over 20 years of experience in the design and implementation of interiors for a number of high-profile projects, including but not limited to the Hamer Hall refurbishment and the Melbourne Recital Centre.

Hannah Tribe – Principal and Founding Director of Tribe Studio

Having worked for architects in both Sydney and New York, Hannah Tribe started her firm in 2003, leading the design and development of a range of award winning projects spanning residential, urban design, installation and interiors.

David Bromley – Contemporary artist

A figurehead in the art world, David Bromley is known for his unique styles and bold use of colours in his artwork, which makes him an apt choice as one of this year’s judges.

Sian Macpherson – Interior Designer and Editor of Est magazine

With experience as both the co-founder/editor of Est magazine as well as the founder of SMP Design, Sian Macpherson’s position as one of this year’s judges will no doubt reflect her proven understanding of how colour can be used to inspire a sense of calm in a project’s design.

Simon James – Simon James Design

Simon James designs and manufactures contemporary furniture for residential and commercial markets and has been exhibited in a number of international design markets. He brings with him a clear understanding of spatial design and how colours can inform upon these concerns.
