Global flooring solutions company Interface has announced its partnership with the Goodes O’Loughlin Foundation (GO), an organisation dedicated to empowering First Nations students through education.
This partnership will see a portion of the profits from Upon Common Ground, Interface’s locally manufactured carpet tile collection designed by First Nations students, directly supporting GO’s scholarships.
This effort aims to reach beyond funding and create pathways for young First Nations students attending school or university to have opportunities to succeed on their own terms.
“We co-created Upon Common Ground to be more than just a collection – it’s founded on our values and our commitment to giving back,” Interface director of marketing activation – APAC Trish McCann says.
“Partnering with GO means we’re not just supporting education; we’re investing in the future of First Nations communities and the incredible young people who will shape it.”
RAINFOREST By Interface from the Uncommon Ground collection
Founded by AFL greats Adam Goodes and Michael O’Loughlin, GO is Aboriginal-led and governed, with culture at the heart of everything they do.
They understand that when young First Nations students feel connected to their culture, their aspirations and confidence grow, and their potential is limitless. With more than 1700 scholarships awarded in the past 15 years – 94 percent to students in public schools – GO is making a real, lasting difference.
Interface’s collaboration is already having an impact, enabling cultural engagement initiatives like the Sydney Culture Connect Day, where students take part in workshops that deepen their cultural identity and community ties.
It has also strengthened GO Foundation’s network, connecting 77 partner schools and seven universities to expand educational opportunities and resources for First Nations students.
