The 2014 Good Design Festival is on in full swing in Sydney’s CBD. The 18-day event is a celebration of design and includes free public events including an outdoor exhibition at Martin Place and a pop-up lounge in the Rocks featuring innovative projects from student designers.
The festival is organised by Good Design Australia in association with VIVID Sydney 2014. While the outdoor exhibition in Martin Place features award-winning products from the 2014 Good Design Awards, the Good Design Lounge presented by Electrolux showcases student projects from the 2014 Hills Young Australian Design Awards and unique and quirky designs for the future from the annual Electrolux Design Lab.
“The Good Design Selection Showcase in Martin Place is the first exhibition of its kind in Australia,” says Dr Brandon Gien, Managing Director of Good Design Australia. “It showcases the latest in product design including domestic products, consumer electronics, medical equipment, sporting products, toys, business and industrial equipment, fashion accessories and everything in-between – this showcase of design brilliance is sure to have something for everyone.
“I’m also extremely excited about our pop-up store in the Rocks that is shining a light on the designers of tomorrow. The Good Design Lounge presented by Electrolux is a free public showcase of the most innovative and exciting design projects by young designers from Australia and around the world. For an eye into the future, don’t miss a visit to the Lounge.”
