Graduates from RMIT’s Associate Degree in Interior Decoration and Design last week showcased their curated works at the FLUX 2018 Winter Edition exhibition. ADR takes a look at the work of the new generation of designers.
The projects ranged from residential to commercial, and graduates have taken their theoretical and technical knowledge of materials and applications, colours, lighting, furnishings and decorative treatments, and applied them to designs that meet their clients’ brief.
“In two short years the students have formed a close-knit community, supported by a network of industry practitioners,” says Jane Mancini, coordinator of the Associate Degree in Interior Decoration and Design program. “They have collaborated with each other to complete four industry projects, ranging from our mentor program to the live projects where the students’ designs are implemented.”

“I am proud to be an RMIT Associate Degree in Interior Decoration and Design graduate,” says Karen Tan. “The course, which was taught by high-calibre teachers has enabled me to learn and experience many facets of interior design and decoration. I’m looking forward to integrating my design skills with my business development experience, and being a new designer with a difference.”
