Beaconsfield Residence reworks a 150-year-old Italianate Victorian terrace in Hawthorn, celebrating its decorative rooms while introducing a masculine rear extension. Arched doors, limewashed plaster ceilings and pale parquetry lead to a black steel threshold, then to garden-facing kitchen and living spaces of concrete, timber, stone, curtains, collected furniture and lighting.
Bringing Australia’s architecture and design community into focus since 2009.
