Returning for its third year, Perth Design Week is set to host more than 70 events across Boorloo (Perth) and its surrounds, showcasing local design excellence and hosting thought-provoking discussions on issues shaping Western Australia and beyond.
As the city’s answer to the world-renowned design festivals in Milan, New York, London and Melbourne, Perth Design Week seeks to put Perth on the global map as a major hub for design creativity, innovation and critical thinking on matters such as sustainable design. It is curated to be inclusive and accessible to all, celebrating how design touches every part of our lives.
Co-founders Sandy Anghie and David Smith describe the festival as an opportunity for Western Australians to engage with the design community in meaningful ways.
“From the very beginning, we’ve seen incredible enthusiasm from the public to engage directly with design professionals,” they say. “This year’s program offers even more opportunities for that connection.”
Taking place from 20 to 27 March, the 2025 iteration will span architecture, urban planning, landscape design, interior design, furniture, fashion and graphic design.
A key focus every year is providing a platform for emerging designers. In this vein, North Metropolitan TAFE and Curtin University will return with their annual exhibitions that offer new perspectives from the next generation of creatives. Similarly, NODE will present a panel discussion featuring leading designers shaping Perth’s creative future.
