Plans for South Australia's first high-tech vertical high school, designed by Cox Architecture, have been released. The project will feature an 'active atrium,' a 60KW solar collection roof farm, and will achieve a 5 Star Greenstar rating.
The design, which will be constructed in 2017, draws inspiration from local landmarks including the Arts Centre and the rowers who make their way up and down the Yarra River each morning.
Developed by Bree Leech and Heather Nette King in collaboration with Andrea Lucena-Orr from Dulux, ‘Antidote: A Colour Cure’ includes four tactile palettes which provide a visual remedy to the sensory disconnect of our tech-heavy lifestyles.
The City of Melbourne has released details of a plan for an $8.8 million redevelopment of University Square, including solar-powered charging stations, wi-fi and a biodiversity corridor. Proposals for major public open space in Southbank have also been released.
Bringing Australia’s architecture and design community into focus since 2009.
