This work adapts Dalton Stewart’s investigation into Australian basalt to a European context, utilising local German materials to create a shelf that sits between sculpture and utility. Drawing from traditional stonemasonry and digital fabrication, Basalt Assemblage is both rugged and precise – an intriguing combination for domestic and commercial use.
