Chilean architect Alejandro Aravena was this week appointed director of the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale, to be held from 28 May until 27 November 2016.
The New Zealand exhibition will be titled “Future Islands”, with a team led by Dr Walker and exhibition associate director Kathy Waghorn, of the University of Auckland School of Architecture and Planning.
While its creative green project will feature in the ‘Alpitecture meets Biennale – Topographic Structures’ exhibition at the Palazzo Bollani, its award‐winning solution for revitalising old buildings will feature in ‘Augmented Australia’ exhibition at the Australian Pavilion.
