Taking place on 22 and 23 October, the 2025 Melbourne Build Expo is set to bring together 10,000-plus construction industry professionals and more than 300 keynote speakers. Here’s what to expect.
Melbourne Build, the largest construction and design show in Victoria, will assemble some of the country’s most innovative and inspirational figures in the sector. The setting for this upcoming trade event – where more than 175 exhibitors are poised to present their wares and construction solutions – is only fitting, given Melbourne’s position at the heart of the Victorian ‘Big Build’ movement.
As the fastest-growing population of any city in Australia, Melbourne is on the cusp of overtaking Sydney as the country’s largest metropolitan hub, with a projected population of more than eight million. This means the Victorian construction industry – a contributor of nearly $21.6bn to the Australian economy – is only set to expand further in the coming years.

At present, the state is undergoing a construction boom with more than 165 major rail and road projects in progress, worth a total investment of $90bn. It’s only fitting, then, that one of the country’s leading trade and construction showcases should take place in Melbourne.
Over two packed days – from 09.30am to 5pm on Wednesday 22 October and Thursday 23 October – attendees will have a huge range of representatives and staff members to engage with, across a broad range of industries. Architects, contractors, civil engineers, government officials and more will be on the ground to share their high-value insights, as well as a premier showcase of event speakers.
Among the key voices at this year’s Melbourne Build are Lord Mayor Nicholas Reece, Victorian Building Authority CEO and commissioner Anna Cronin, Suburban Rail Loop Authority chief operating officer Megan Bourke-O’Neill and Hickory Group chair Benni Aroni.
As well as the limitless networking opportunities among the estimated 10,000 visitors, those in attendance at this year’s Melbourne Build will have the chance to engage with 12 summits across six bespoke conference stages. These include talks on architecture and design, the future of construction, sustainability, infrastructure and more.
There will also be 10 specific networking events, designed to cut through the surrounding excitement of the expo and help you focus on the industry peers most relevant to you. On top of all that, guests will have a packed roster of on-site entertainment to enjoy, including DJs, live performances, celebrity guests and competitions with prizes to be won.
