Innovative design rugs from Nodus

Share

The third edition of the ‘Talking Textiles’ exhibition at the TextielMuseum in Tilburg, Netherlands features new and rarely seen items. Amongst these are two limited edition rugs, Circus and Aquila, designed by the Campana brothers of Estudio Campana and FormaFantasma, respectively. Both rugs are designed exclusively for Nodus and will remain on display until 26 January 2014.

Designed by Fernando and Humberto Campana, Circus, is a 200cm hand-knotted rug in a slightly irregular round shape. All ten of the limited edition rugs have been made in Nepal using coloured hemp and rag dolls.

Aquila, designed by FormaFantasma, is a 220cm needlepoint wool rug made in Portugal. It features an image of a migratory bird inspired by John James Audubon’s 18th-century painting. Only five pieces exist.
