On Saturday 14 June, six of Melbourne’s top architectural practices came together at the Albert Park Indoor Sports Centre to play in a five-a-side World Cup tournament hosted by Bespoke Careers.
Congratulations to the winners, France (Fender Katsalidis), whose team was made up of some very ‘athletic’ architects showing off their fancy footwork on their way to a 4-2 win. Former World Cup squad member and ex-Melbourne Victory & Heart player, Kristian Sarkies presented the trophy to the winning squad.
Conratulations also to the runners up team, England (K20 Architecture), who held their own and were even until the final minutes of the second half.
Australia (Clarke Hopkins Clarke) also proved to have some talented mid-fielders and strikers and fought extremely hard until the end, finishing third on the leader board, just in front of Spain (Elenberg Fraser), who dominated the day with their subs and cheer squad.
The event was organised with help from the Archisoccer crew, who assisted in putting the teams together.
