Australian Design Review welcomes new editor: Elisa Scarton

Share

Elisa Scarton joins the team at Niche as the online editor of Australian Design Review and the new editor of Niche’s flagship interior design publication, inside, taking over the reins from the next issue.

Elisa brings a mix of experience with her, coming from a background in travel and lifestyle journalism, accompanied by excellent digital and editorial acumen.

Most recently, Elisa spent three years as deputy editor on The Florentine, a news, food, lifestyle and culture magazine and digital publication. Living the Tuscan dream aspired to by so many Aussies, she spent the last five years in Italy, where her travel blog was listed by The Guardian and Lonely Planet as a top resource. It also led to her being commissioned by Effigi Publishing to write a print guide book to Tuscany – The Maremma Tuscany. Fluent in Italian, she freelanced for such digital publications as Italy magazine, American magazine, The Local and The Tuscan Times.

Elisa is the whole package as a journalist, being also a keen photographer and videographer with superb editing skills and strong experience in graphic design.

Happy to be back in Australia, Elisa’s passion for all things design and digital will see both Australian Design Review and inside being taken into their next phases.

Elisa takes the reins of inside from long-standing co-editors Jan Henderson and Gillian Serisier, a formidable team who have led the publication for many years and made invaluable contributions through their unwavering commitment to the Australian design industry – both through the magazine and their exemplary work on the IDEA program. The forthcoming issue of inside (108) will be the last one from Jan and Gillian, before Elisa confidently steps into the big shoes they leave behind.
