Captains Dresser by BDDW
Photography credit: Kasia Gatkowska.

I’ve been a fan of BDDW works for many years and we recently purchased their Captain’s Dresser for our Dutch Quarter project. It’s beautifully proportioned and exceptionally detailed. Bold enough to be a hero but not overpowering within the space. What I love about BDDW is the way they continue to innovate in a completely classic, sophisticated and practical way. Their detailed craftsmanship by hand is a work of art.

Lunetta Perch by Sally Caroline, SC Collection.

A playful take on the classic, circular stool. The Lunetta Perch was born from our desire to create a signature stool that would sit comfortably in many settings – from a luxurious restaurant to a residential kitchen, an outdoor rooftop bar to a hotel lobby. Embracing a minimalist, elegant form with hand-crafted details, the piece was to embody our studio’s design values and echo our aesthetic sensibilities, animated by customisable finishes to inspire endless possibilities.

Supertoys Supertoys are a Dutch-German art & design duo I discovered in 2021 while specifying our Dutch Quarter Project. A studio who inspires wonder and connection into everyday life, challenging our preconceptions about the world and all things around us. We recently purchased the ‘Who Controls Time?’ Wall Clock. It’s artful and playful, but also practical and functional. Its whimsical design “imagines two flower dragons high up in the clouds controlling the flow of time, one controlling the passing of time forward, while the other controls the passing of time backward. It is in this balance or yin yang energy where we perceive the speed of time and where we, like children, can decide how it should flow.” A spark of joy to walk past.

‘Antheia’s Spectrum’ bronze with patina colour by Vipoo Srivilasa
Photography credit: Simon Strong.

Melbourne-based, Thai-born Australian artist Vipoo Srivilasa creates artwork that is positive, accessible, and beautiful. His work immediately makes me smile. This playful bronze sculpture is destined for an almost complete Sally Caroline residential project. I adore the hand gestures, and the floral details. There’s a youth charisma to his work that just draws me in every time.

Raphael Kadid, Oblago Table Lamp

I love the silhouette of the Oblago table lamp, inspired by primitive architecture and neo-futurist concepts. It’s ambiguous proportions and beautiful outline are special moments for me. Available in multiple configurations, with one arrangement of columns forming a table lamp, and multiple making it a striking floor lamp. Lamps are a great way to craft an atmospheric mood. Our studio enjoys the playful exploration of a light source, how each piece throws light differently, creating layers through high and low opportunities within a home. This piece is the true essence of an illuminated art piece and it sits proudly in the entry of our studio.
