Armadillo has unveiled Linea, a new collection that gently reinterprets traditional rug motifs.
The range signals an evolution in Armadillo’s design language – reimagining classic rug patterns with the brand’s signature restraint, while placing a renewed emphasis on the human touch.
Handmade by Armadillo’s artisans, Linea quite naturally settles time-honoured techniques into contemporary life. Pattern is present but moderated through touch, material and process instead of overt decoration.
Persian-inspired patterns begin as mapped drawings, translated from paper to loom, then reinterpreted by the weaver. With each repetition, edges soften, proportions shift and colour settles, resulting in designs that feel layered, lived-with and nuanced.

The first rug in the collection, Allegra offers a diffused interpretation of traditional border and medallion motifs, crafted with the richness of Afghan wool. The Persian hand-knot technique and trimmed cut pile soften the structure of the design and give the surface tactility.
Dyed to a warm tonal profile, the Cinnamon colourway enhances the rug’s graceful shading and artisanal appeal. With its lived-in, relaxed presence, Allegra bridges old-world influence and contemporary ease in interiors designed to feel both refined and personal.

Adagio draws on the poetry of antique textiles. Hand-knotted from pure wool, its oxidised surface gently tightens and curls the fibres, veiling the rug with a time-worn quality.
The pale tones of the planet Neptune wash across the rug, framed by a delicate border that suggests an heirloom sensibility without the formality. By allowing texture to lead where pattern may otherwise dominate, Adagio brings discerning artistry into its surroundings.

Basilica in Clove revisits the classic medallion rug through a warm, earthy palette shaped by nuanced green inflections. Hand-knotted from wool on a cotton warp, the design achieves chromatic depth through intricate clipping and expert finishing.
A lightly textured cut pile and considered detailing elevate the rug’s heritage references, rewarding closer attention. Slender in profile, Basilica is neither overtly traditional nor starkly modern but a grounding presence that feels assured in its balance.

Minuet approaches decoration through surface rather than statement, with linear clipping creating a gentle ripple across the cutpile. Its abstract motif is intentionally understated, allowing tone and texture to carry the composition.
Woven from wool on a cotton warp, the serene Skylark hue has a velvety touch that lends a sense of rhythm rather than repetition. The effect is calm and immersive for a fresh interpretation on embellished tradition.

Sonata allows pattern to emerge gradually, carried by the natural striation of hand-spun Afghan wool. The fine pile and lower knot count create a supple, grid-like texture. Motifs fade in and out of contrast, not anchoring to a single reading.
Curated in Plume and Wisp – palettes that deepen the organic variation of the yarn – the pattern sharpens and dissolves in gentle succession.

Latitude marks a new expression for Armadillo, introducing a fine flat-weave rug crafted entirely from linen. Its surface has a subtle dimensionality, as hand-spun yarns dip and rise, creating variation within a consistent plane.
Each colourway – from the cool calm of Beluga to the richer hues of Caramel, Roan and Pine – highlights the fibre’s inherent lustre and exceptional hand feel. Luxurious underfoot yet poised in appearance, Latitude feels architectural in its restraint, its slim silhouette complementing interiors that value both comfort and clarity.

Perennially popular, Odessa’s new colour story speaks to the enduring language of the line.
Hand-knotted from Afghan wool, the rug is defined by natural striations running through the pile, giving each piece a distinct sense of individuality. Banksia, Partridge and Travertine inject tonal interest to the existing hues of Arborio and Caraway.
This expansion brings new life to a familiar form, extending Odessa’s versatility without altering its essence.
Presented within contemporary interiors, Linea resists nostalgia. The collection respects tradition through subtle evolution rather than reinvention.
Each rug in the collection is a living piece, shaped by oxidisation, tonal depth and natural irregularities, embracing the traces of true craftsmanship.
