Australian floor covering provider Andersens has collaborated with ResiLoop on industry product stewardship to expand their advocacy for green industry practices.
ResiLoop is a not-for-profit scheme backed by major suppliers, aimed at decreasing waste by incorporating circular economy principles for floor coverings. Andersens CEO Rowan Hodge says that ResiLoop aligns with his company’s commitment to reducing waste and promoting a circular economy across the industry.

The initiative seeks to offset the reported 60,000 tonnes of flooring waste that enters landfill each year.
Resilient flooring offcuts are collected during installations to prevent excess material from being wasted and instead repurposed for new uses. These offcuts are sent to ResiLoop’s recycling partner to produce a garden edging product.
ResiLoop CEO Sophi MacMillan says the funding raised through the levy that members pay supports the management of offcut collections for recycling and its research and development efforts to explore additional opportunities for using this valuable material, traditionally considered waste.
Andersens’ involvement allows franchisees to provide customers with product choices that address waste challenges. “As a ResiLoop member, Andersens is helping customers play a vital role in this initiative,” MacMillan says.
Beyond ResiLoop, Andersens pursues meaningful change through its ongoing Project Green initiative. Since its launch in October 2020, Project Green has planted over 390,000 trees, marking another milestone in the company’s commitment to sustainable practices.

Under the One Project – One Tree program, each flooring project undertaken by Andersens contributes to global reforestation efforts.
Hodge says incorporating ResiLoop alongside Project Green strengthens its commitment to sustainability at every stage of the flooring lifecycle.
“From sourcing responsible materials to recycling old flooring and planting trees to offset our impact, Andersens is dedicated to shaping a greener future.”
