Pacific PropTech’s manufacturing facilities in Shanghai and Melbourne, along with its international partnerships, mean it has the capability to offer fully integrated services across the board from design all the way through to delivery.
The benefits of operating across two continents are many and varied. Pacific Prop Tech (also known as Ricci) has long been able to take full advantage of the different resources available in its different markets, leading to a much more cohesive and comprehensive design process. The cultural differences in those markets naturally lead to flexibility in both design and execution. The associated access to a wider range of materials and expertise is the reason the company is able to offer such a broad range of products and services.Â
The value of global reach is a truism that Pacific PropTech truly understands. The brand is an end-to-end solution provider that offers the whole spectrum of services, from materials to furniture, joinery, fabrication, installation and support at every stage of the design journey. Its manufacturing facilities in both Melbourne and Shanghai ensure a reliably consistent approach to its products and projects.
The modernisation of the Shanghai facilities in particular gives Pacific PropTech capacity that it could not have achieved via its Australian facilities alone. Together, the two locations provide the company with more sustainability, greater flexibility and access to higher-grade, superior products.
Stakeholders in the built environment – builders, architects, interior designers – are able to access a much greater and more diverse product range thanks to this capability, with Pacific PropTech enjoying partnerships with companies that supply materials from across the world.
But the company goes further than this. Despite the dual-footprint supplier being a relevant newcomer on the scene, it is able to boast a more integrated capability than the norm. Importantly, it also represents international brands in the Australian market, proving the power of partnerships goes far beyond simply branding or one-offs.
Truly a multinational concern, Pacific PropTech represents not only the different companies from across the globe, but also their individual and unique technologies and design languages.
Two of its most notable relationships are with the Swedish commercial furniture manufacturer, Edsbyn, and PoliLam, the high-pressure laminate and decorative panel manufacturer, headquartered in Houston, Texas in the US, with offices in Europe, New Zealand and here in Australia. Pacific PropTech markets and distributes its products.
With a 126-year legacy, Edsbyn has been operating in the town of the same name, situated in the historically significant province of Hälsingland. It produces certified Swedish craftsmanship with furniture – often for the workplace – that is designed to stand the test of time. Founder Ivar Pettersson notably followed the Henry Ford assembly line strategy, and so was an early Swedish adopter of professional processes, templates, fixtures and workstations for industrialised furniture production that earmarked the company as forward-thinking and high-quality from establishment.
This fully integrated design-to-delivery template is a familiar sight in Shanghai, but much less so in Australia, making Pacific PropTech something of a pioneer in the local industry.
Multiple projects have already benefited from this holistic approach, including Clendon Toorak Apartments, Novoka Cafe, Confluence Hawthorn East and, overseas, Swissôtel Beijing Hong Kong Macau Center.
From being a dedicated all-rounder to being flexible enough to embrace new ideas and new collaborations, Pacific PropTech has learned the power of plurality.
