Caves, subterranean landforms and mycelium networks were the biophilic inspirations for TERRAIN, an ecologically oriented studio, bookshop and gallery in Melbourne. TERRAIN investigated waste material utilisation, material efficiency, decarbonisation and bioremediation for the design, which harnesses sustainable practices and forward-thinking prototyping and research to create the studio and community space.
