New South Wales-based furniture brand Hegi Design House and Melbourne-based interior designer Jem Juthamat have unveiled their collaboration – the Baan collection, an avant-garde assembly of tubular pieces.
Taking its name from Juthamat‘s cultural roots in Thailand, where ‘Baan’ signifies home, the collection includes a console, side table and desk.
So far, only the Sabai Console is out as part of the first release, with two other pieces still to be revealed.
Grandeur, playfulness and artistic expression within interior design are the driving forces behind the collection.
Each piece is a testament to luxury craftsmanship, created from materials such as marble, hardwood and brass – all integral elements of IDEA alum Hegi Design House’s existing collections – as well as certified timber.
Juthamat describes the Baan collection as an embodiment of fluidity, innocence, sensuality, and a playful blend of femininity and masculinity. Her collaboration with Hegi Design Studio explores sculptural design, drawing inspiration from Renaissance architecture and infusing it with a contemporary twist.
The Baan collection is available through Hegi Design House’s website, with the option for custom marble and timber finishes available upon request.
