The team at Matt Gibson A+D has been announced as the winner for the Miele Immer Besser design competition, with their proposal for an ultra-flexible apartment space.
“As far as we know, it's the only pumping station in Australia that has been preserved for this type of use." Hector Abrahams of HAA discusses the revitalisation of Sydney's first sewage pumping station.
The project, developed by Sterling Global, will feature an internal arcade wrapped in digital art installations, brimming with cultural curiosities including galleries, a bar, restaurants, retail spaces and a public book exchange.
