The Intergrain Timber Vision Award 2015 entries are now open. The role of timber in today’s design industry is a constantly evolving one and given the material’s traditional use it’s safe to say timber as a building medium has come a long way.

Celebrating exactly this, The Intergrain Timber Awards aim to shine a light on advanced timber application in particular those architects and designers who are pushing the boundaries. Design professionals across the architecture, building and landscaping industries are now invited to enter innovative timber focussed projects demonstrating a creative and visionary use of wood.

The awards have previously attracted high calibre entries, this year organisers have added two new categories, the ‘Public Space’ and ‘Student’ categories will join the existing ‘Exterior Residential’, ‘Interior Residential’, ‘Exterior Commercial’ and ‘Interior Commercial’ widening the scope and providing further support to public artists and those starting out in the industry.

“The new Student category encourages emerging industry professionals to get involved and share creative ideas for timber application. The introduction of the Public Space category celebrates renowned public locations, validating timber as an integral material in local community design,” said Intergrain’s, Amanda Chalmers.

Timber will continue to play a popular and relevant role in architecture and design and this is the perfect chance for those thinking outside the box to gain valuable exposure, while providing an exciting timber showcase for the general public.

Entries open on Tuesday 7 April and close on Tuesday 30 June.
