Responding to a sloping site in Melbourne’s north-east, Babylonia draws inspiration from its elevated rear garden and mature eucalypts to create a sunken sanctuary within a suspended landscape. Embedded within the terrain, the home moves between enclosure and openness, creating layered relationships between the landscape and architectural landscapes within it.
