Lighting, materiality and acoustics were key considerations in the design of Southeast Asian restaurant and bar Juni in the Melbourne CBD. Concrete beams, unearthed during construction, anchor the space and provide a rough backdrop for layered lighting strategies – moody, shifting, ambient – each calibrated to the rhythm of the evening.
