Luxury Danish audio brand Bang & Olufsen has opened a new Sydney flagship store on Martin Place. The flagship brings together the brand’s signature Danish design and immersive approach to sound in the heart of Sydney’s CBD.
The store is the second Australian flagship for the brand, growing Bang & Olufsen’s presence in the country during its centenary year. Beyond showcasing the brand’s full range in a purpose-designed space, the new CBD flagship offers clients a dedicated space to experience Bang & Olufsen’s approach to sound, design and craft.
Delivered in partnership with Design Collection Denmark, Bang & Olufsen’s longstanding retail partner in Australia, the Martin Place store is the brand’s second in Sydney.

Housed within an iconic sandstone building at 14 Martin Place, the 162-square metre space balances the character of the original neo-classical architecture with the signature warmth and tactility of Scandinavian design. The preserved stone façade is complemented by light oak elements across the split-level store.
Set against the calm, neutral backdrop and timber materiality, pops of colour define different collections and functions. The entrance reception is defined by deep blue and red tones, high ceilings, mirrors and soft furnishings, creating a dramatic arrival and serene environment to contrast the bustling city. The second level opens into an earthy-toned living room, providing a calm, neutral backdrop for the Atelier collection, and the upper level transitions into green tones defining the bar area, VIP listening room and meeting space where clients can immerse themselves in the world of Bang & Olufsen.

Throughout the store, layered lighting showcases the Bang & Olufsen range, creating a welcoming ambience, while soft curtains define more intimate listening spaces. Together, these elements create a refined atmosphere that invites clients to relax, explore and experience beautiful sound in a warm residential setting.
To mark the occasion, Bang & Olufsen invited local Australian artist Holly Terry to create a bespoke artwork. The collaboration is the latest chapter in the brand’s Art of the A9 series – Bang & Olufsen’s platform at the intersection of art, design and sound, which invites artists to reinterpret the Beosound A9 speaker cover through original artwork. Terry was selected for her distinctive use of bold colours, movement and abstract expression.
The Beosound A9 is a go-to designer selection for its minimal, sleek form and interchangeable front cover, which provides the ideal canvas for a unique artwork. Terry’s vibrant, expressive Art of the A9 – Sydney Edition will be available to purchase exclusively through the Martin Place boutique ahead of a nationwide rollout.

In addition to Terry’s unique art piece, the flagship will also showcase the exclusive Beolab 90 Titan Edition, a made-to-order loudspeaker created for Bang & Olufsen’s 100th anniversary, which is part of the Beolab 90 Atelier Editions.
“The opening of our Martin Place flagship is an important milestone for Bang & Olufsen in Australia, and one we are proud to mark during our centenary year,” says Gianfilippo Testa, CEO of Bang & Olufsen. “Sydney’s CBD is a natural home for this next chapter of our retail story, giving us a space to further enrich our clients’ experience of the brand in the heart of one of the country’s leading business and luxury precincts.”
