Residents within Melbourne’s South Yarra will soon have access to an open-air public workspace and a three-level co-working space, as Yarra One apartments announces a first-of-its-kind, residential co-working space within Australia.

Designed by Fender Katsalidis Architects the open-air public workspace will be located on level one and will be equipped with laptop and phone charging stations, as well as a café and canopies of greenery.

Inside Yarra One will be a three-level co-working space, complete with a meeting room, private office rooms, the option to hot desk, communal space for collaboration and high-speed Wi-Fi.

FKA Director Nicky Drobis says the co-working space engages directly with the sculptural trellised plaza and further enriches the lifestyle for residents of Yarra One.

“The co-working space and public open air space will offer a welcoming and vibrant environment where residents of Yarra One and the wider community can connect with each other.”

Start-up meccas such as New York’s TriBeCa and Hell’s Kitchen are paving the way for residential co-working spaces, which is a growing trend overseas.

The 26-level Yarra One will encompass 255 one, two and three-bedroom apartments as well as four-bedroom penthouses. Residents will also have access to a wellness precinct, equipped with a gymnasium, outdoor spa and yoga room.

Construction is scheduled to commence next month, with completion slated for the second half of 2020.
