Located within the State Significant Blackwattle Bay Precinct, which includes the relocated Sydney Fish Markets, this project will provide 11,000-square-metres of open space for the community.

“The creation of Bank Street Park offers a meaningful opportunity to illuminate the local history and culture of Tjerruing Blackwattle Bay,” says OCULUS associate director Roger Jasprizza.

He says the collaboration between OCULUS, Greenshoot Consulting x Greenaway Architects and Collins and Turner Architects will deliver the best outcome for this project.

“Together we will design a welcoming and inclusive destination, drawing on the uniqueness of this place.”

The precinct’s waterfront promenade, traversing Bank Street Park, will complete Sydney’s 15-kilometre harbour foreshore walk from Rozelle to Woolloomooloo.

The Connecting with Country Framework for Tjerruing Blackwattle Bay prepared by Bangawarra sets out the relevance and importance of Connecting with Country throughout the governance and design of this precinct.

Community consultation has already shaped the design brief to ensure Bank Street Park reflects long-term community needs and aspirations. A preferred concept design is anticipated to be completed in mid-2023.
