The first exhibition on the life and work of Charles and Ray Eames to be shown in Asia, presented by Herman Miller and the Hong Kong Design Institute.

*Essential Eames: Tracing the life and passions of Charles and Ray Eames*

The Hong Kong Design Institute and Herman Miller will present the first ever Eames exhibition in Asia this September.

Essential Eames is a travelling exhibition, featuring never before seen images and 30 new films of the life and work of the Eames, two of the most important and influential designers of the twentieth century. The couple are known for their contribution to the fields of architecture, furniture design, industrial design, manufacturing and the photographic arts. Designed and curated by MMoser, the exhibition traces the seamless integration of Charles and Ray’s creative life and passions.

Essential Eames will be officially opened on Friday 16 September by special guest, Eames Demetrios – Director of Eames Office and grandson of the world’s most famous couple in design, Charles and Ray Eames. Demetrios will give a talk about Charles and Ray, and will provide guided exhibition tours on Friday 16 September.
