Sydney exhibition: Au.thentic

August 8, 2011

A new exhibition in Sydney sheds light on some of the modern-day creative thinkers leaving their mark on the global creative scene.

A current exhibition, on show at the Tait Outdoor showroom in Sydney, brings together the work of a number of leading Australian creative thinkers in a celebration of original Australian design.

Au.thentic explores the ways that Australia is engaged with the international design industry, shedding light on some of the modern-day visionaries whose work is leaving its mark on the global creative scene.

The concept for the exhibition is to show that, in spite of its physical isolation, Australia is no longer so far removed from the global creative industry. Through technology, lifestyle and travel, Australians are now making their presence felt on a global scale, across various disciplines. Now, we are not only exporting our designers and product, but also importing the same – attracting talent from around the world and cementing Australia’s role as a formidable creative force.

AU.THENTIC has been created by Marcus Piper and Christey Johansson of Australian design studio one8one7, and is supported by Tait Outdoor. Participating designers include *Trent Jansen*, *Adam Goodrum*, *Helen Kontouris*, *Ben McCarthy*, *Nick Rennie*, *Universal Design Studio*, *Toko*, *Charles Wilson*, *LAVA*, *Justin Hutchinson*, *Michael Bojkowski*, *Ingvar Kenne*, *one8one7*, *Tait Outdoor* and *John Warwicker*.
