*Design: From concept to consumer* is a free public talk taking place at BMW Edge in Federation Square on Wednesday 24 August.

British designer Benjamin Hubert, State of Design Creative Director Kate Rhodes, Anton Assaad from Great Dane Furniture and Broadsheet editor Caroline Clements will discuss the design process from concept to commercialisation, from manufacturing to marketing and media.

The talk will discuss key considerations when taking a product to market, how to get onto a showroom floor, the best ways to negotiate the press and how to pitch your product and yourself as an emerging designer.

An exhibition of the work of final year students from RMIT’s School of Industrial Design and select pieces will be discussed by the panel.
