Expanded Architecture 2011: call for proposals

July 7, 2011

Submit your proposals for moving image projects and architectural film installations for inclusion in Expanded Architecture 2011, taking place in Sydney this October.

As part of the Sydney Architecture Festival, Expanded Architecture 2011 is looking for proposals for collaborative, site-specific moving image projections and film installations.

Selected participants will be part of an engaging, one-night-only exhibition in the dramatic foyer space of Carriageworks in Sydney on Wednesday 26 October.

The invitation is open to architects, artists, film-makers, design professionals and students. Submissions should propose site-specific moving-image projection installations, responding to the foyer of Carriageworks or its immediate context. Proposals involving inter-disciplinary, inter-state or international collaborations are encouraged.

Expanded Architecture began as a sell-out film screening night and panel discussion in November 2010 at Performance Space in Sydney. The event brought together the film work of over 40 artists and designers, focusing on the intersections of avant-garde film, expanded cinema and architecture. Expanded Architecture 2011 is supported by The Sydney Architecture Festival, Carriageworks and The University of Sydney.

*Deadline for proposals* 19 August 2011
*Event runs* Wednesday 26 October, 7-10pm
