A four-day trade event for furniture designers, wholesalers and manufacturers running at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre this July.

Australia’s largest furnishings and furniture trade fair, Furnitex, returns to the Melbourne Exhibition Centre this July with a four-day trade event for furniture designers, wholesalers and manufacturers, and an associated program of networking and educational events.

Lightsource will join Furnitex for the first time this year, showcasing the latest lighting products and technologies for commercial, retail and outdoor spaces.

A seminar series will also take place in the auditorium, with confirmed speakers including Genty Marshall and Roger Nelson from Australia, as well as furniture designer Lee Broom, interior designer Abigail Ahern and textile designer Erica Wakerly from the UK, and trend forecaster, stylist and designer Milou Ket from the Netherlands.

Other associated events include furniture design competition VIVID (vibrant visions in design), Hotel + Hospitality furnishings and the co-located Decoration + Design. Furnitex is one of the key satellite events associated with the 2011 State of Design Festival.
