Ozetecture Masterclasses with Glenn Murcutt & Juhani Pallasmaa

The Architecture Foundation Australia presents its 2011 program of Master Classes in Sydney and Ireland, with Glenn Murcutt and Juhani Pallasmaa.

The annual Master Classes, organised by not-for-profit organisation The Architecture Foundation Australia, offer students the opportunity to enhance the learning of architecture. Master Classes are taught by acclaimed Australian architects Glenn Murcutt, Richard Leplastrier, Peter Stutchbury, Brit Andresen, Ian Athfield and Lindsay Johnston.

The Foundation has presented the annual Glenn Murcutt International Architecture Master Class in Australia since 2001, as well as other professional Master Classes in New Zealand and South Africa and an annual Summer School for senior architecture students. This year, the Foundation has initiated its first program in Europe, following the Master Class format.

*Eleventh Glenn Murcutt Master Class*

There are places still available for the eleventh annual International Master Class to be held at the Arthur Boyd Centre ‘Riversdale’ near Nowra and the Carriageworks Centre for Contemporary Arts and Culture, Sydney. The two-week residential program is limited to 32 places, and offers participants one week at Riversdate on the Shoalhaven River, south of Sydney, and a second week at Carriageworks. Glenn Murcutt personally leads the Master Class, staying at Riversdale with the participants and tutoring all groups. Other tutors include Richard Leplastrier, Peter Stutchbury. Professor Brit Andresen and Lindsay Johnston.

*Irish Master Class with Juhani Pallasmaa*
*29 May-4 June 2011*
A one-week Architecture Master Class held at Glencree, Co. Wicklow, Ireland with Juhani Pallasmaa, Richard Leplastrier and Peter Stutchbury.
Places are still available for the first Master Class to be held in Europe. The program will be a studio-based design charette undertaken in small groups, for a project, usually on a site within walking distance of the venue. The design program will be supported by talks from the ‘masters’ and on-going tutorial support during the week. All the ‘masters’ will stay with the participants at the Glencree Reconciliation Centre. The program will culminate in presentations and crits on the last Friday.
