Australia’s leading event for architects, designers and interior designers taking place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.

designEX is Australia’s leading event for the interior, architecture and design industries. The trade event is now in its 23rd year, presenting classic and contemporary design to the industry and showcasing the latest products and trends from local and international brands.

Taking place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 13-15 April, the three-day event is refocusing on the specialist design trade with a number of changes to the program.

The 2011 event includes:
*Keynote series*, with speakers from across Europe and the USA including *Massimiliano & Doriana Fuksas*, *Colin Seah* and *Kevin Schopfer*
*Live profiling*, featuring architects and designers from some of Australia’s most noteworthy projects speaking candidly about the challenges they faced
*Architectural radar*, an interactive experience highlighting new practices within the industry
*The mystery box challenge* sponsored by Hettich – four designers are presented with 10 materials and must design a product for the bathroom, all within a three-day deadline
*Decor*, a products showcase for soft furnishings, textiles and decorative accessories. Also includes workshops and presentations. The Décor precinct will have its own dedicated workshop and seminar stage covering decorating topics such as sustainability, global trends, paints and finishes and wall art, plus numerous sessions dedicated to textiles and textile trends.
