The first survey exhibition of one of Australia’s most innovative mid-twentieth century architectural practices Chancellor & Patrick will open from 16 February 2011.

From their modest beginnings in Frankston in 1953 through to the 1980s, the exhibition follows their prodigious creative output, mapping their role in Australia’s mid-twentieth century avant-garde movement and journey as a small collaborative firm.

Little known to the public, this exhibition brings to light the inner workings of this progressive practice, their creative ideas and their processes. Illustrated by original photographs, drawings and unbuilt schemes, the exhibition contains over two hundred designs, retrieved from the stored archives of over 1000 drawing files.

*When* 16 February – 3 April 2011
*Where* Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery, Civic Reserve, Dunns Road, Mornington
