The inaugural SPARC International Lighting Event will be held in Sydney from 6-9 June 2011.

Local and internationally recognised lighting experts will showcase the latest in lighting technology in the biggest display of lighting innovations, networking opportunities and lighting experiences, all under the one roof.

Headlining the speakers at the event will be Mark Major, director of one of the world’s most respected lighting design companies, Speirs + Major. Major’s work includes lighting designs for the Millennium Dome and Royal Festival Hall in London, as well as the Beijing Capital Airport.

Also speaking at the event will be Chou Lien, president of BPI Brandston Partnership based in China and the USA, and Oscar Peña, senior creative director of lighting at Philips Design, who will be travelling from Holland to attend the event.

The SPARC International Lighting Event will not only showcase an array of lighting ideas for participants to witness first hand, but also provide a glimpse into the future and trends in the lighting industry. There are also opportunities for industry players to network, engage and further their knowledge through a series of educational seminars with a range of keynote speakers focusing on topical lighting issues.

SPARC is aimed at anyone who works, studies or designs in lighting or kindred industries such as architects, lighting designers, industrial designers, engineers, interior designers, landscape designers, building and project managers, facility managers, electrical contractors and end users of architectural, commercial and industrial lighting.
