World Green Building Week

Events in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and online showcasing sustainability initiatives in the built environment.

Green Building Council Australia is celebrating World Green Building Week with a range of events from 20 – 24 September. World Green Building Week aims to showcase current sustainability initiatives in the built environment, as well as promote the importance of sustainable buildings in tackling climate change.

“We aim to demonstrate that green buildings are not only a cost-effective way of addressing climate change, but can also deliver affordable housing, job creation, increased productivity and healthier environments for all Australians,” Romilly Madew, Chief Executive of the GBCA, says.

World Green Building Week will be celebrated with several events, including the launch of the WorldGBC’s special report _Tackling Global Climate Change – Meeting Local Priorities_. Some other events that will be celebrated through the week include:

*Networking drinks with China Green Building Council, Sydney*
*Monday 20th September*

*Green Tie Gala Dinner?, Sydney*
*Wednesday 22nd September, 6:00pm – 10pm*
Join the leaders in Australia’s green building industry in Sydney, and hear from inspiring speaker James Sherrard, who has spent the past five years building green in some of the most dangerous and challenging countries in the world. *Investa/Green Buildings Alive! Online*
A place to see and share real data on buildings so they run smarter, cleaner and cut costs. The project shares real measurements of energy, water, emissions from 53 Australian commercial offices over seven years. *Port of Brisbane Site Tour, Brisbane*
*Wednesday 22nd September, 3,30pm*

*Thursday 23rd September*

*Paul Reidy speaks about the acclaimed Ark Building, Sydney*
