An event contrasting architectural form with the nature of performance, held at Sydney gallery GRANTPIRRIE.

Commercial contemporary art gallery GRANTPIRRIE presents Resonate, defined by the Sydney exhibition space as “a series of experimental events that contrasts the rigidity of architectural form with the ephemeral nature of performance.”

An amplified performance will be held each month throughout spring on the rooftop balcony of the gallery in Redfern. Guests will experience the performance from the level below as the sound projects through the building and into the local surrounds.

September’s Resonate features a jazz blues trio led by Joe West.

*Where* 86 George Street, Redfern NSW 2016
*When* 4pm, Saturday 25 September 2010

GRANTPIRRIE was established in 2002 and the exhibition program spans three spaces and comprises solo shows of new work from represented artists. The gallery is also involved in exhibitions from international, unrepresented and emerging artists, curatorial projects and off-site experiments and collaborations with other creative organisations.
