Sydney Design, running from 31 July to 15 August, encompasses over 70 events, exhibitions, tours and workshops taking place at 15 venues across the city.

Presented by the Powerhouse Museum, the international festival features event covering fashion, product design, graphic design, textiles, jewellery, architecture and photography.

Events include:
* A talk by *Giovanna Castiglioni*, daughter of the late Achille Castiglioni. Thursday 12 August, 6.30pm Powerhouse Museum
* *Iron Designer*, an action-packed design challenge inspired by the Japanese cooking show. Friday 6 August, 6.30pm Powerhouse Museum
* *Young Blood: Designers Market*. Friday 13 – Sunday 15 August, Powerhouse Museum
* *Pecha Kucha*. Tuesday 10 August, 7pm. The Ivy
* *Communicating Architectural Ideas*. A panel of architects, artists, advertisers and media experts discuss publicising your work in the media. Tuesday 3 August, 6.30pm. Tusculum
* *Re-loved: Designer Stories*. Sydney designers reinterpret the essential furniture item: the chair. From 31 July, Powerhouse Museum
* *Workshopped: 10 years of design and innovation*. A design showcase at the annual Workshopped exhibition, presenting the best of Australian design. 5-14 August, Powerhouse Museum
