Sydney: Green Buildings Conference

The Green Buildings Conference in Sydney is a leading event for those working in the sustainable building and design industry.

Now in its 8th year, the Green Buildings Conference is one of Australia’s leading events for those working within the sustainable building and design industry.

The conference will include several key case studies, while talks given by leading industry experts will address issues such as the application of renewable energy technologies and Melbourne’s 1200 Buildings Program. In addition, a panel discussion will look at how to prepare for mandatory disclosure of energy efficiency.

This year’s conference will be held at Doltone House in the Workplace6 building – the first commercial development in NSW to achieve a 6 star Green Star rating for design. The site tour of Workplace6 is an opportunity to see Workplace6’s world leading standards in environmental design and resource efficiency.

Highlights include *case studies* on 1 Shelley Street Sydney- a 6 Star Green Star building; The Australian Zero Emission House; an examination of early lessons from the UTS Master Plan Development; and a look at green schools, with a particular focus on Wangaratta High School – which has achieved a 4 Star Green Star Rating.

* Keynote Address: Barangaroo a one planet community
* Panel Discussion: making sure you are ready for mandatory disclosure of energy efficiency
* Transforming the city of Melbourne’s existing building stock – the 1200 buildings program
* Sustainability – discussion of costs, life-cycle performance and jobs
* Embodied carbon in the construction of new buildings
* Portfolio asset evaluation strategy

The keynote opening address will be given by Jason F. McLennan, CEO, International Living Building Institute & CEO, Cascadia Region Green Building Council, USA. This offers a fantastic chance to get up to speed on key industry developments and network with your industry peers.
