Australian Achievement in Architecture Awards

February 11, 2010

An AIA awards ceremony bringing together the Architecture Gold Medal and other achievement in architecture awards.

The announcement of the winner of Australia’s Gold Medal for Architecture will headline a new annual awards event being introduced by the Australian Institute of Architects.

Placing the achievements of people in architecture more firmly into the spotlight, the Australian Achievement in Architecture Awards will bring together a suite of existing annual architecture prizes.

Headlined by the Australian Gold Medal for Architecture announcement, the Australian Achievement in Architecture Awards will include the Glenn Murcutt Student Prize, Neville Quarry Architectural Education Prize, Student Prize for the Advancement of Architecture and Dulux Study Tour winners.

The new ‘people-focused’ event will ensure a higher level of recognition for those recipients. There is also scope for the development of new prizes recognising individuals making a contribution to the profession and Australia’s built environment.

The cocktail-event and awards ceremony will rotate around the country in March each year, beginning in Brisbane on *Thursday 18 March 2010*.
