Curved bi-fold doors inspire students’ creativity

August 9, 2012

A new performance centre for the Matthew Flinders Anglican College in Queensland, designed by Dimond Architects, uses Elevate aluminium doors from AWS to create a striking curved wall.

This motivating performance centre, built for Matthew Flinders Anglican College, is located in Buderim Mountain, Queensland. Dimond Architects needed to fulfill a strict design brief, ensuring the building was multi-functional, light-filled and inspiring. AWS aluminium windows and doors contributed to the solution of satisfying this brief.

Elevate Aluminium Systems delivered an impressive solution for the project that has become one of the building’s distinguishing features. Four sets of Elevate Series 411 Bi-Fold aluminium doors with louvres above form a 20-metre-long curving wall, creating an eye-catching feature for the school. These Elevate Series 411Bi-Fold doors proved the ideal product for this project, as they can be manufactured with compliant panels up to 3000mm high – ensuring the doors would be a standout feature.

A number of products from the Elevate Aluminium Systems range have been utilised in this project, preferred because of their high performance, bold frames and durability. The building also features Elevate Series 400 Centre glazed suite with 50 Series doors, along with Elevate Series 452 commercial sliding windows.

The building is now a functional learning space for students, teachers and the community that allows their inner creativity to run free. The appearance and ambience of the building has improved student focus.
