Layers by Hella Jongerius for Maharam

May 30, 2012

Maharam and Dutch designer Hella Jongerius collaborate to produce a range of woven contract textiles inspired by her 2008 Layers collection.

For their latest collaboration, Maharam presented Hella Jongerius with a new challenge: to design within the limitations of contract textiles, thereby making her work more accessible to a broader audience.

Garden, Park, and Vineyard by Hella Jongerius transfers the designer’s 2008 Layers collection into affordable and useable flat woven textiles. A crisp translation captures the wavering line quality of Jongerius’ original hand-drawn sketch, while shifts in colour stand in for Layers’ dimensionality.

Maharam offers a comprehensive collection of textiles for commercial and residential interiors.
