Bio

Founded in 2009, Foolscap is a young, enthusiastic and energetic creative studio, with a focus on innovation and experiential design. We are an interdisciplinary design studio, with a collection of projects that are not easily defined by any one category or genre. This is a positive quality of Foolscap’s range and capacity – adaptable and explorative. We work across the full spectrum of interior design and our portfolio includes everything from retail and hospitality fitouts, to temporary event spaces, pop-up bars and product design. Foolscap creates sustainably designed environments that are both functional and clever. We understand that a sustainable solution stems from a strong concept and a thorough understanding of the entire building design process.

  • Taste sensations: hospitality design with Foolscap Studio

“Kitchens have always been somewhere hidden and dirty, not somewhere you would be invited, but there is a real change going on there,” says Adele Winteridge, founder of Melbourne’s Foolscap Studio – a practice on the tip of international tongues when it comes to clever hospitality design. Winteridge speaks to Sandra Tan for MEZZANINE.

  • Patricia

Drawing inspiration from 1930s New York, this standing room only cafe in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD is designed by Foolscap Studio in collaboration with Beyond the Pixels.

  • Interior Design: Vanishing Elephant flagship store

Foolscap Studio uses natural textures such as canvas, timber and leather to create a rustic yet contemporary fitout for menswear label, Vanishing Elephant.

  • Interior Design: The Doghouse

Built in just 24 days, The Doghouse is a 1920s speakeasy-style bar in Darlinghurst exploring themes of concealment and secrecy.
