Unison Workspaces marked its transition to a MillerKnoll dealer with a showroom refresh and an exhibition that guided visitors through the history of MillerKnoll.

On 22 February, the New Zealand-based furniture and lighting destination hosted the event at its newly renovated showroom in Auckland to commemorate its new role as MillerKnoll’s first dealer in the Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) region.

Unison Workspaces showcases the legacy of Millerknoll

MillerKnoll is a collective of dynamic brands – such as Herman Miller, Knoll, HAY and Geiger – all of which continue to shape the world we live in through design. The collective formed in 2021 when leading design brands Herman Miller and Knoll merged after decades of competitive innovation.

From the early days, both Herman Miller and Knoll worked with some of the finest minds in the industry, including Eero Saarinen, Charles and Ray Eames, Harry Bertoia and Florence Knoll. These pioneers first met at Cranbrook Academy of Art, a North American art school with a rich history in mid-century modernism that encouraged experimentation and new ways of approaching design. They would go on to have a significant influence on Herman Miller and Knoll, as well as on design as a whole.

Their stories, and that of other milestone designers, products and moments in MillerKnoll’s history, were on show at Unison Workspaces. The exhibition traced the collective’s legacy and vision to change the world for the better through design.

The next step in a decade-long partnership

Following the launch exhibition, the new Unison Workspaces showroom will now house brands from the Millerknoll collective, including Herman Miller, Knoll, Muuto, Colebrook Bosson Saunders and NaughtOne.

MillerKnoll Australia and New Zealand sales manager Josh Coughlan says the new showroom is a “beautiful reflection” of great design and the companies’ shared commitment to bring meaningful solutions to customers.

“Unison has been partnering with Herman Miller as a dealer for over 10 years. Its impact on the industry and dedication to introducing the market to quality, innovative, design-led products makes Unison Workspaces the ideal partner for MillerKnoll as we expand in the region,” he says.

“Together, we are excited to create engaging, human-centric spaces for people to work in.”
