Sydney design duo Janos Korban and Stefanie Flaubert recently completed Unison, a stainless steel suspended sculpture located in the new King George Central building in Brisbane’s CBD.
Unison aims to draw people to the heart of the building – suspended both inside and outside, both pieces work together to create a unified zone and sculptural ‘canopy’ in the greater building area. Its shape follows the outline of a fluid form, with two opposing outlines interweaving and creating shifting shapes as passers-by move below.
Central to Korban/Flaubert’s work is the exploration of metallic lustre and ductility, as well as fluidity in metal manipulation.
Few furniture designs withstand the test of time as well as the HÅG Capisco. Established as a seating icon for over 30 years, the chair is as popular and contemporary today, as the day it was launched.
