minuscule is a sophisticated but uncomplicated collection designed by Danish designer Cecilie Manz for Republic of Fritz Hansen, launched at the 2012 Milan Furniture Fair. Conceived as a formal chair and table designed for an informal setting, the collection’s name and aesthetic is in tune with the understated nature of Scandinavian style.
The curved shell of the chair is upholstered in a lightweight yet durable fabric, hand stitched and with a fine leather detail that traces the edge of the shell. The seat is supported by a plastic frame, its straight lines softened like stones washed up on a beach. The upholstery of the outer shell is available in two shades of muted grey while the inner shell can be upholstered in a range of colours, including rust orange, ultramarine blue and a soft green.
The lounge table features the same slim grey plastic frame as the chair, topped with either a white compact laminate or Oregon Pine tabletop. Together, the chairs and tables provide a casual and adaptable setting suited to commercial and residential environments.
minuscule will be available through Corporate Culture later this year.
