- Designer Derlot, JamFactory
Brisbane-based designer, Alexander Lotersztain of Derlot, has collaborated with South Australia’s JamFactory to produce the Depo tableware range. Made from South Australian clay and sand, the ceramic collection of bowls and plates has been glazed in a range of earthy tones.
The collection has been produced for exclusive use in Depo, a recently opened bar and restaurant in Brisbane co-owned by Lotersztain and chef, Erik van Genderen. Reflecting the restaurant’s core focus on humble dishes and local, seasonal produce, the tableware range has a simple, rustic aesthetic, with the hand-made process still evident in the finished pieces.
Produced in collaboration with the ceramics studio at JamFactory, Lotersztain explains that the range is designed as “a simple, elegant collection that creates wonder in unexpected places” – seen on the underside of the plates, where a grid of diagonal lines offers both function and surprise.
The collection will soon be available for purchase through Depo.
