The new CX 480 cooktop is an innovative new full-surface cooktop design from Gaggenau, offering a borderless cooking area.
The induction cooktop offers greater flexibility, convenience and ease in the kitchen, with a cooking surface that can accommodate pots and pans of any size. Up to four pans can be placed on the cooktop at one time, with a touch display that allows the user to select cooking zones and heat settings. Sensors on the cooktop recognise the location of the cookware and direct heat to that spot. A booster function speeds up boiling time by increasing the heat of the cooking zone temporarily by 50 percent.
The cooktop can also be transformed into a hot plate, with the GN 232 Teppan Yaki plate. This plate, made from a multi-layer material comprising stainless steel, aluminium and alloys, spreads heat evenly across the surface.
The CX 480 received the iF gold product design award in the kitchen/household category in March 2011, presented at the International Forum Design awards in Germany. The large touch display, which indicates the shape, size and location of the cookware, was awarded the iF gold communication design award.
