Arik Levy’s Wireflow series for Vibia

June 6, 2014

France-based Israeli designer Arik Levy’s lights constantly wow all with amazing sculptural form, colour and nuance. In keeping with this level of pizazz, and of a decidedly architectural ilk, his Wireflow series for Vibia (Koda Lighting) is an absolute treat.

Arik Levy’s latest designs for Vibia, Wireflow, float in space like two-dimensional line drawings of pendant lamps. Comprising a stylised language of simple geometric forms, these pieces delight in the experiential moment, when the form is passed and the illusion is revealed. That said, the level of elaboration is entirely customisable from four, six, eight and 20 LED iterations ranging in size from 30 to 150 centimetres.

The grandest version comprises a series of vertical hexagonal forms hung within a series of horizontal hexagonals to become an elaborate and nuanced expression of a grand chandelier. The pieces are further customisable with length and width adjustable in the top middle and bottom portions of the design.

Koda Lighting offers an architectural service designed to assist architects and interior designers with configuring the layout and dimensions of the product to suit individual application. Additionally, one of the fittings is designed to plug into a 240-volt household power socket for refurbishing applications where relocating power or recessing is not an option.
