New handcrafted timber bike rack from Work-Shop

February 26, 2014

Brisbane-based timber design studio Work-Shop has recently launched a new handmade timber bicycle rack that is simple and elegant and can be customised to suit any bike’s structure.

Perhaps the most beautiful bike rack available, Work-Shop’s solution is a handcrafted timber wall support that holds the bike just off the floor and close to the wall. The design is simple, but deliberate in addressing a bike rider’s needs. To wit, the top rail support is via a leather sling that can be ordered to suit your bike’s angle (15 degree or 90 degree) in tan, brown or black.

The off the shelf iteration is made from high quality ply (Australian sourced and FSC certified) with the layered side facing outwards, however bespoke solutions are also available in a range of Australian hardwoods to suit any office interior.

Indeed one such rack has been installed within barristers’s chambers. The flat surface of the sling support is sufficiently wide to rest a helmet with gloves and glasses tucked inside. More importantly, this is just one of the handcrafted products this exciting young initiative has on offer.
